West Ham weekly round-up: Perisic, Kramaric, Cahill and Sturridge linked; Real Madrid enter Rice hunt; new injury concerns

West Ham’s season is in danger of fizzling out as they remain stranded in the bottom half. But transfer rumours are still rife. Here is a selection of the latest Hammers news as of Friday 19th April.

Players linked with West Ham

The most exciting – yet unlikely – rumour of the week linked West Ham with Inter Milan and Croatia star Ivan Perisic (Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness).

Another winger linked with the Hammers is Andrej Kramaric (SportBild via Tutto Mercato Web). The Croatian attacker flopped with Leicester City in the Premier League but has scored 20 goals for Hoffenheim this season.

Two soon-to-be free agents are also on West Ham’s radar: Chelsea defender Gary Cahill (The Mirror) and Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge (The Daily Mail).

The Irons face a battle to sign Besiktas midfielder Gary Medel as his former club Boca Juniors enter the hunt (Fotomac).

And lastly, the Edin Dzeko rumours will not go away. The latest suggests he prefers a move to Inter Milan but West Ham are still keen (Gazzetta dello Sport).

Earlier in the week, ex-West Ham defender Scott Minto revealed that Real Madrid have been in contact over Declan Rice (Stadium Astro).

And Edimilson Fernandes is set for talks with loan club Fiorentina about whether they will sign him permanently (La Nazione via Sport Witness).
