West Ham round-up: Fernandes linked with £8m exit, first-team quartet leave, Hammers lodge bids for Guillermo Maripan and Andre Gomes

With the transfer window now in full flow, West Ham are being linked with a numer of players. A busy summer is expected in East London and here are the latest rumours (as of Friday 31st May).

The big news story of the week involves former Everton loanee Andre Gomes. West Ham’s £18m bid has been rejected by Barcelona, who want £25m – £35m for the Portuguese midfielder (Sky Sports News).

Deportivo Alaves defender Guillermo Maripan has been linked with West Ham for a while. West Ham have now reportedly made a bid of around £10m for the Chilean centre-back (Mundo Deportivo).


West Ham have also reportedly bid for Alexis Claude-Maurice. Lorient have received bids from Arsenal and West Ham for the 20-year-old striker who scored 14 Ligue 2 goals last season (Soccer Link).

Huddersfield Town star Aaron Mooy is also on West Ham’s wishlist. The Australian midfielder, 28, is wanted by six Premier League clubs and would cost around £15m (The World Game).

West Ham exit rumours

Swiss midfielder Edimilson Fernandes is reportedly heading to Mainz. The 23-year-old, who was on loan at Fiorentina last season, will join the Bundesliga club for £8m (The Sun).

West Ham will also listen to offers for two of their strikers. Lucas Perez and Javier Hernandez could leave for the right price (BBC Sport).

Reports in Spain suggest Perez has nearly completed his West Ham exit. The 30-year-old’s move from West Ham to Deportivo Alaves (for less than £2m) should be announced soon (Noticias de Navarra).

Four senior players were released by West Ham, the club’s official website confirms. Goalkeeper Adrian, midfielder Samir Nasri and strikers Andy Carroll and Toni Martinez all depart.

A handful of youngsters, including Vashon Neufville, Moses Makasi and Josh Pask, are also released at the end of their respective contracts.
