Friday Round-up: The week that was at West Ham

The international break can make for a slow news week but there has still been enough going on at West Ham this week.

Neville, Brady, Wilshere and more

At the start of the week, Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville weighed in on the Declan Rice debate, drawing on his experience as England coach.

Then, photos of the current state of the old Upton Park emerged on Twitter, which did not go down well with fans.

One of the biggest stories of the week was Karren Brady throwing her weight behind Manuel Pellegrini’s management; she assured him the board have every faith in his ability.

Pellegrini was handed another boost when it was revealed that Mark Noble and Arthur Masuaku would be fit to face Everton this weekend. Later in the week, Jack Wilshere was ruled out of the match.

Lanzini, London Stadium and Butland

Manuel Lanzini was never going to play against Everton, but there was some good news as he began the next stage of his rehabiliation.

The London Stadium was also in the news; the ongoing debate with the venue’s owners rumbles on, and discrepancies between the attendances West Ham report and the official numbers were reported.

The transfer window may be closed, but there was also some news ahead of the January market. After his clean sheet for England, West Ham were installed as the favourites to land Jack Butland from Stoke.
