The Hammers will be guaranteed of a sixth placed finish with a win against the Saints on Sunday.

And that would mean Europa League football. What an incredible turnaround David Moyes has overseen in East London.

Meanwhile, Southampton have nothing to play for really. They can climb as high as 12th in the league with a win at the London Stadium.

The Saints players will probably be on the beach already, however.

The West Ham players have been superb this term. They really have.

We just need one final push to make sure that it ends up being a great season.

West Ham vs Southampton clash predicted by Lawro

There are no excuses. We have so much more on the line than the Saints do.

And Mark Lawrenson predicted that the Hammers will win 2-0 on Sunday, when writing his regular column for BBC Sport:

“Southampton are already just thinking about the summer and the big question is whether they will be able to keep hold of their star striker Danny Ings. Without him you would start to worry about them a little bit. A point would make sure West Ham finish sixth, but they have had a very good season, regardless of what happens.”

Lawro’s prediction: 2-0

David Moyes will undoubtedly be on the cases of every single West Ham player ahead of Sunday’s game.

The Scot will not let them ease up one little bit.

Let’s hope that the boys don’t make it too nervous for us fans watching a home! A comfortable win will do us just nicely.

And that’s exactly what Mark Lawrenson thinks will happen.
