Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been let off the hook to face West Ham despite his sending off against Man City.

West Ham drew 1-1 at Southampton on Sunday – a result which left fans and manager Moyes hugely frustrated.

There was no such frustration for Wednesday’s opponents Liverpool, though.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side ominously looked more like their old selves as they became the first team to beat Manchester City this season ahead of welcoming the Hammers to Anfield.

Liverpool’s home is very rarely a happy hunting ground for West Ham – or indeed any team as Man City found out to their cost on Sunday as Mo Salah scored in a 1-0 win.

So David Moyes will take any slight advantage he can get ahead of Wednesday night’s trip to Liverpool.

The Hammers were boosted when Klopp was sent off during a pulsating encounter with Man City.

At least they thought they were.

Klopp’s red card came as tempers frayed in the closing stages. The Liverpool manager was dismissed after reacting furiously when the hosts were denied a free-kick for an apparent foul by Bernardo Silva on Salah, whose goal ended a five-game Premier League scoreless streak just in time to face West Ham.

Many West Ham fans assumed that would mean Liverpool would be without their German leader for the match against them.

But Liverpool boss Klopp will be let off the hook to face West Ham despite his sending off against Man City.

Klopp will NOT face an automatic ban for the West Ham game. That’s despite admitting himself – in the video above – that he probably deserved to be dismissed!

The FA will assess his behaviour before deciding on ban/fine/hearing or no further action.

That’s according to Associated Press’ global soccer correspondent James Robson.

This will only further reinforce the feeling among fans – particularly of clubs like West Ham and the so-called ‘Other 14 – that Liverpool get special treatment.

Had Klopp been missing from the dugout it would undoubtedly have impacted Liverpool in some way.

Hopes were high that West Ham could trouble Liverpool given their rotten form so far this season.

But the Reds have started to look dangerous again as is so typical of West Ham’s luck.

West Ham can actually leapfrog Liverpool in the table with a win.
