James Collins has challenged his team-mates to build on the creditable 0-0 draw with Everton and ignite a push up the Premier League table with a win over Stoke at the weekend.

Slaven Bilic’s men gained a point from the stalemate against Ronald Koeman’s troops at the London Stadium, and they go to the bet365 Stadium on Saturday to take on Mark Hughes’ side.

And Collins believes the fact that the Hammers shave taken five points from the past three games gives the side all the proof needed to finish the season with a flourish with just four top flight games remaining.

He said: “We want to finish as strong as possible. I’ve been in the game a long time now and I know if you finish the season well, you can move onto the next season and look to continue that form, so that’s what we’re looking to do.

“It’s been a tricky season on and off the pitch, for the manager and for the boys getting used to new surroundings, but it’s about finishing strong and looking forward to next season.”

West Ham are currently sitting in eight position in the table but if they enjoy period of success as during the final games of the season they could still finish eighth, conceivably.

After playing Stoke, they face two tough games at the London Stadium; the first against London rivals Tottenham, who are enjoying a superb run of form in the league, and then they host Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, who are battling to finish in the top four and claim Champions League football for next season. Their final game of the campaign is at Burnley.
