West Ham boss David Moyes has performed a 180 regarding his views on the five-sub rule brought in by the Premier League.
From next season, clubs will be permitted to use five substitutions, to be made on three occasions during a match, with an additional opportunity at half-time (Sky Sports).

Talk about the Premier League bringing in a new five-sub rule first emerged when football resumed after the first nationwide lockdown in June 2020.
Initially it seemed like a good idea because of the sheer volume of games being played last season in such a short period of time.
Five substitutes were allowed up until the end of the 2020/21 season and then at the start of this term the rule changed back to only three subs being allowed.
David Moyes was one of the Premier League managers who wasn’t in favour of the five-sub proposals at the time. It seems as though he has now changed his mind though…
Moyes performs U-turn on Premier League five-sub rule
The Hammers boss is well-known for not making many changes throughout a game.
So some might think that he would be against the new five-sub proposals from the Premier League.
That’s not the case though. Moyes responded when asked by reporters today if he is in favour of the new Premier League five-sub rule, as quoted by Football.London:
“I am. I wasn’t in favour two years ago but I’ve changed because the welfare of the players has changed. It’s been difficult for so many clubs with covid and more games being put in. I’m in favour of it.”
It’s a strange take from Moyes considering the fact that he rarely makes three substitutions during a match.
In all fairness to the Scot though, he hardly has any kind off depth in quality on the bench.
If West Ham make some top-class signings this summer, that will all change.
And if that happens, the onus will then be on Moyes to be more proactive during games, especially with five substitutes being allowed from the start of next season.
