Aaron Cresswell needs no special pre-match briefing on the skill set and qualities of Chelsea flyer Victor Moses. For the Hammers left-back is already fully aware of the Blues attacker’s qualities.
Cresswell got to know all about the former Crystal Palace and Liverpool man’s abilities when the Nigeria star spent some time with West Ham during a loan period last season.
And Cresswell has the pleasure, if it turns out to be that, of reacquainting himself with his old pal when the two teams go head to head at the London Stadium in a Premier League clash tomorrow night (Monday).
Antonio Conte’s top flight leaders face the Hammers with an ambition to add to their tally at the summit; Slaven Bilic’s side would like nothing more than to dent their title tilt.
And although during the 90 minutes Cresswell will do his best to thwart his former team-mate and his side’s bid for Premier League glory, he believes that one way or another the prize will end up going to Stamford Bridge come the end of the season.
Cresswell said: “Vic spent a year with us and he’s a great lad He’s really kicked on and shown what he is all about this season. Some people questioned if he would ever fulfil his potential, but since Antonio Conte has come in, he’s taken to it and had a right go and has arguably been one of their best players.
“Vic is a very laid-back and chilled character, but since their new manager has come in, he’s really got his head down and worked hard and it looks like he’s going to win the Premier League.
“His ability was never in question. He has fantastic talent and I remember playing against him in the Youth Cup when he was at Crystal Palace and he was 15 and even at that age you could see the ability that he had.”
Cresswell adds that he is chomping at the bit to play in the game; he says he sees it as a chance to compete with the best players and in turn, that gives him an opportunity to try to prove himself.
He added: “I’m looking forward to the game because you want to play against the best teams and the best players and Chelsea have certainly got them.”
