West Ham travel to Brighton tomorrow night looking to make it four wins from their last five games in all competitions.

The Seagulls beat the Hammers home and away last season, but that 3-1 reverse at the Amex Stadium brought an outstanding goal from Javier Hernandez.

It remains to be seen whether the Mexican will be fit for tomorrow’s game after glandular fever; but we’ve looked back at that strike to show what Pellegrini might be missing…

David Moyes’ bid to keep the Hammers afloat was off to a stuttering start and it didn’t get any better at the home of the Seagulls.

José Izquierdo scored a stunner to complete a double of goals over the club last term, and Brighton were deserved winners on the day.

Glenn Murray had put his side ahead but on the half hour mark, Chicharito hit back in style.

James Collins’ forward pass was intercepted but Hernandez buzzed onto the ball in trademark fashion. He found himself further out of the box than he usually operates.

After a quick exchange of passes, the ball found its way back to the feet of the forward. A dummy left Lewis Dunk for dead, but there was still a lot to do.

That’s when Hernandez’s expert finishing came into play. With one touch, he made a yard of space before crashing the ball into the top corner emphatically. What an option he would be off the bench tomorrow…
