Chelsea star Thiago Silva has laughed at the costly West Ham decision which denied the Hammers at Liverpool after seeing comparison picture.
West Ham were beaten 1-0 by Jurgen Klopp’s Reds at Anfield.
The result was a blow to West Ham’s hopes of a European spot but kept Liverpool well in the race for the title and put them 10 points clear of Chelsea.
There is no love lost between West Ham and Chelsea. But the same can be said for Chelsea in their rivalry with Liverpool, which intensified last week after an epic Carabao Cup final.
Many felt Chelsea should have won that game, particularly after Romelu Lukaku’s very harsh offside call proved decisive in the 0-0 draw as the Blues went on to lose on penalties.
If Chelsea were feeling hard done by then goodness only knows so are West Ham after losing to Liverpool at Anfield.
The Hammers created more chances than any other side away at Liverpool during Klopp’s entire tenure.
West Ham spurned a host of golden chances to get something out of the game and enhance their bid for a European spot.
Pablo Fornals, Nikola Vlasic, Michail Antonio, Jarrod Bowen, Tomas Soucek and – most sickeningly – Manuel Lanzini all wasted chances to score.
Instead the game was decided by a moment of controversy when Sadio Mane was adjudged by VAR to be onside when scrambling home a mis-hit shot from Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Replays were far from conclusive as Mane looked to be beyond West Ham defender Craig Dawson.
But the checks were over very quickly despite many pundits and supporters feeling Mane was offside.
Liverpool have acquired the nickname Li-VAR-pool since the introduction of the controversial technology in the beautiful game.
And it is easy to see why. West Ham have already experienced that first hand over the last two seasons.
Now Chelsea star Silva has laughed at the costly West Ham decision after seeing a Liverpool comparison picture on social media.

“Thiago Silva laughing in the comments section on Instagram,” ChelseaFC365 posted on Twitter with a screenshot of Silva’s reaction to a picture of the Lukaku offside compared to Mane’s onside decision against West Ham.
“One was disallowed and the other one was allowed, it makes no sense!” the account ChelseaPulse posted on Instagram with the images of the West Ham decision at Anfield and the Chelsea incident at Wembley.
Silva replied to the picture comparison with three laughing faces.
It will be no laughing matter for West Ham, though, if they miss out on a European spot by one point.
