This season has been one of the best West Ham have ever had, certainly the best since I first attended a game in 2004. Beginning with our fantastic away wins over Arsenal and Man City to Payet’s heroics and Carroll’s return to scoring form. One question still remains for West Ham though; can they make it into the Champions league?

If you look at the current table, West Ham is currently five points behind Manchester City with a game in hand. Arsenal could be catchable as we have a game in hand over them as well, but personally I think they are too far ahead now. So now it is a three way fight between the two Manchester clubs and us and personally, I don’t think we will do it.

Let’s look at the remaining fixtures. Manchester United play Norwich first, which they should win, then later that day, we play Swansea to begin our final playing week at Upton Park. The atmosphere will be rocking so I can feel a home win there. Then the following day, City face Arsenal which I feel will be a draw at best.

The key game in all this happens on West Ham’s last ever game at Upton Park against Manchester United. This is the game in hand that both clubs have over City so a draw will ruin both clubs’ chances and only a win will do for either side. I will be lucky enough to attend this game and the emotions are going to be high and the atmosphere will be one of the best ever  so I fancy the Hammers to win and get revenge on the FA Cup defeat.

That leaves it down to the last game of the season. Manchester United face Bournemouth at home, Manchester City is away at Swansea and we are away at Stoke. Both Manchester clubs should win and I hope we do too but I can feel a draw coming and that will mean that City get the final Champions League spot.

Despite this, West Ham have had an amazing final season at their spiritual home and move into their new stadium with a great manager, great players and one of, if not the best, fans in the world. Bring on next season and the Europa League I say.
