Micah Richards has reacted to Lucas Paqueta’s angry outburst on social media after West Ham suffered a 2-0 defeat against Liverpool.
Paqueta got himself sent off after picking up two yellow cards in a minute for dissent.
West Ham were only a goal down at the time, but the Brazil international’s decision ensured that the hosts would not be taking anything from the game.

Michard Richards understands Lucas Paqueta’s frustration
Shortly after the game, Paqueta took to X to express his frustration and also claim that he was let down by the FA.
This is because he was under investigation for alleged spot-fixing offences, which resulted in him not getting a move to Manchester City.
Micah Richards admits he understands Paqueta’s annoyance as he could not move to the Etihad Stadium two seasons ago.
However, the former City defender believes that still does not justify him getting two yellow cards in that manner.
In his view, the Brazilian has let down his teammates and he should be doing better.
Speaking on the Rest Is Football, Richards said: “I understand his frustration. I remember at the time when he was going to get his move to potentially Man City, but if he gets sent off today for two yellow cards, you can’t you have to take responsibility for that.
“We backed you as pundits and whatnot and we’ve said, ‘Well, hold on. He was worth x amount of money. He’s been out of the game and now he’s had to get himself. It’s not really fair.’
“So, I understand that frustration, but you don’t need to get two yellow cards. Like, what?

Jarrod Bowen and the senior West Ham players need to intervene
A lot was made about Jarrod Bowen not calming things down when Paqueta was screaming at the on-field referee.
Bowen, as club captain, can now get the senior players together to speak to the midfielder about his actions and how they will affect the team.
They need to tell him that he not only let them down, but also the manager and the fans as well, who have such high expectations from him.
As one of West Ham’s best players, he should be setting the right example, leading from the front, and not becoming a spectacle on or off the pitch.
