David Moyes was replaced by Julen Lopetegui at West Ham United in the summer, after our woeful form during the second half of last season.
West Ham actually finished the calendar year with the worst defensive record in the Premier League, with both David Moyes and Julen Lopetegui to blame.
Moyes is still out of work seven months after leaving the London Stadium, but he has been heavily linked with numerous different roles recently.
The Scot worked wonders for the Hammers if we’re being honest.
He guided us to three successive European campaigns during his time at the London Stadium, and led us to our first major trophy since 1980.

However, the football become stale in the end – we were utterly turgid to watch during the second half of the 2023/24 campaign.
Moyes was actually offered a new contract in December 2023, but that deal was yanked after our awful run of form from the new year onwards.
The biggest mistake that David Sullivan made wasn’t getting rid of Moyes, it was replacing the Scot with Lopetegui.
And now the former Hammers boss has shared his views on our current situation.
David Moyes aims cheeky dig at West Ham and Julen Lopetegui
Lopetegui has failed miserably in his role as West Ham head coach, there are no two ways about that.
However, that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t have sacked Moyes.
We were going nowhere fast under the 61-year-old Scot.
Moyes has been speaking about his thoughts on the current Hammers setup, as quoted by C&H:

“We had just about got to a period of really good stability at West Ham… Regular in Europe three years in a row and finishing in a decent position in the league. I’m just more disappointed that it’s not quite looking as stable as what it was then.“
That’s a clear dig from Moyes.
He was obsessed with the notion of West Ham becoming a stable club during his tenure, and there’s nothing wrong with that of course.
However, he’s forgetting that he oversaw a drastic regression throughout the second half of last season.
Complacency had set in, and we had become so easy to play against.
Don’t get me wrong, Julen Lopetegui hasn’t been able to improve upon David Moyes’s failings from last season.
However, it would serve the Scot well to remember that he didn’t leave us in a great state when he exited the London Stadium.
