An astonishing revelation has been made about West Ham’s often infuriating long throws and fans will barely believe it.
It’s fair to say West Ham’s throw-ins divide opinion among supporters.
Many fans find themselves questioning the tactic as they struggle to remember the last time it paid off.
There’s no hiding West Ham are a big set piece team under David Moyes.
And there’s certainly no shame in it either.
But the perception – certainly with the same long-throw routine we see week in, week out – is that it’s a bit of a busted flush.
What do you mean we need a break from the old routine
Teams are wise to it and it is hard to remember too many goals as a result of the move.
It’s usually Vladimir Coufal launching it into the box or Michail Antonio from the other side if he’s playing.
And it rarely seems to result in a goal.
Well you won’t believe an astonishing new revelation about West Ham’s long throws.

Coufal’s astonishing throw-in statistic revealed
They have just announced the statistic that Coufal has created more chances directly from throw-ins than any other player with six.
Not just in the Premier League.
But across all of Europe’s top FIVE leagues this season.
It’s staggering when you think about it.
That’s nearly 100 teams and over 2,000 players.
Yet West Ham’s Coufal has created more chances from those often infuriating long throws into the box than any other player.
Albert Einstein said “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.”
It can work but we just need to find a finish
Well it seems there’s method to West Ham’s long throw madness.
Because this shows it does work in respect of creating goalscoring chances.
The issue the Hammers have is converting those chances into goals.
It’s another feather in the cap for Coufal, though.
The dependable right-back is having an excellent season with seven assists to his name after setting up Antonio’s goal in the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa last time out.
