Footballer Yannick Bolasie has slammed snubs for West Ham United and Everton in team of the season selections.

Manager officially admits discussions have already started to sell striker to West Ham

Bolasie knows a thing or two about football talent.

The forward is one of the most outrageously skilled players to have graced the Premier League.

But he believes West Ham and his parent club Everton are being consistently overlooked in team of the season selections across the board.

Soucek and Digne key players for West Ham and Everton in push for Europe

West Ham had been right in the mix for a Champions League spot until and injury to Declan Rice destabilised their season.

Everton were also in with a chance of Europe and can still qualify for the Europa League depending on West Ham and Tottenham’s results in the final two games.

At West Ham, Tomas Soucek is on course to be named the club’s Hammer of the Year.

He has been a revelation for the Hammers, setting new records for aerial duels won and distance covered while scoring nine goals thus far to boot.

Soucek on course to be in Prem’s top 10 players of the season and Digne has better stats than Shaw

As a result Soucek is set to end the season in the top 10 players in the Premier League according to statistics site WhoScored (formerly Opta). The West Ham midfielder is currently ninth.

Soucek has played every minute of every league game too.

Swashbuckling left-back Lucas Digne has been one of the most consistent players for Everton.

He has seven assists in the Premier League for Everton this season and boasts an average match rating of 7.10 (WhoScored.com).

But both Soucek and Digne have been absent from most team of the season selections.

Bizarrely Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher chose West Ham hero Soucek as his signing of the season but did not put him in his team of the season.

He chose Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante instead despite Chelsea having a very mixed season, particularly until the arrival of Thomas Tuchel. While Soucek has been an ever-present for West Ham, Kante has played just 23 league games for Chelsea.

Gary Neville also snubbed Soucek in favour of Man City’s Ilkay Gundogan.

Yannick Bolasie slams West Ham and Everton snubs in team of the season selections

Both Carragher and Neville selected Luke Shaw at left-back. But he has less assists and a lower average match rating than Everton favourite Digne.

It is not just Neville and Carragher’s teams the West Ham and Everton stars are absent from, though.

And Bolasie, now playing his football on loan at Middlesbrough, says both players – as well as Leicester’s Timothy Castagne – deserve recognition.

EA Sports named Soucek in its Team of the Year.

And so did Bolasie, who pointed out the importance of players to their team should have a big bearing on their inclusion.

“How I’m not seeing Soucek in any teams of the season is a madness….the guys been unplayable,” Bolasie said on Twitter.

“Also I’ll put Digne/Castagne in (the) convo for the fullback places too…

“We need to see how important these players are for their teams to do well.”
