The FIFA 22 player ratings for West Ham United have been revealed and they may surprise some fans.
Ahead of the annual release of the latest iteration in the long-running FIFA video game series, gamers and football fans eagerly await the unveiling of each player’s vital statistics.
If you’re into that kind of thing of course.
Plenty of West Ham fans are. And the stats usually cause quite a stir across an opinionated English football landscape especially amongst the players themselves.

There was controversy recently when some of the stats for West Ham star Declan Rice were revealed.
So much so his England teammate Jack Grealish hit out calling for them to be improved, particularly his lack of pace on the forthcoming game (Manchester Evening News).
Grealish then mocked EA Sports when Rice surged from the halfway line to score a wonderful solo goal in West Ham’s 2-0 Europa League win away at Dinamo Zagreb last week.

“I told you Declan Rice should be higher than 66 pace on EA SPORTS FIFA,” Grealish said in response to BT Sport’s video of the West Ham midfielder’s brilliant goal.
Well now the full list of FIFA 22 ratings for West Ham’s squad have been revealed.
And fans may have a few surprises in store.
Firstly that £100 million rated Rice is not listed as West Ham’s best player. He is narrowly edged out by central midfield teammate Tomas Soucek for that honour with both on 82 overall.

But perhaps one of the biggest shocks for West Ham fans will be that striker Michail Antonio – the current Premier League player of the month – does not even make West Ham’s top 10 players with an overall score of 79.
Soucek is top of the pile at West Ham according to FIFA 22 with an overall score of 82.
He edges out Rice, who takes second spot with goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski – who has seen his position as West Ham’s number one come under increasing scrutiny since the arrival of Alphonse Areola – in third place with 82.
Interestingly Areola is fourth in the rankings with the same score.

New £29 million signing and instant Hammers hit Kurt Zouma is fifth with a score of 81. Vladimir Coufal is sixth with 80, Angelo Ogbonna is seventh on the same score and £33m new signing Nikola Vlasic is eighth on 80 too.
West Ham left-back and Fantasy Football assist king Aaron Cresswell is ninth with 79 followed by fan favourite and Spain international Pablo Fornals – also on 79 – in 10th place.

That means taking all stats into account, FIFA 22 ranks Antonio (79) as West Ham’s 11th best player overall.
But Hammers boss David Moyes may argue he is actually his side’s single MOST important player given his influence on the team and the lack of back-up available to the Scot.
West Ham players by rank according to the new FIFA 22 statistics:
1 Soucek 82

3 Fabianski 82
