West Ham United are in all sorts of trouble right now, with their Premier League status hanging by a thread.
Nuno Espirito Santo has a seriously difficult task on his hands, if he is to keep West Ham in the Premier League this season.
As things stand right now, the harsh reality is that West Ham will be getting relegated to the Championship come May.
Seven points currently separate the Hammers from 17th placed Nottingham Forest in the Premier league table.
Describe Taty Castellanos in ONE word! 🇦🇷
And what would your West Ham frontline be now if you were picking the team?
The style of football has been truly atrocious this season, with Nuno failing to have the desired impact so far.
There simply isn’t enough quality in the squad at the London Stadium right now, and Nuno will be desperate to change that before the January transfer window slams shut.
However, the West Ham fans will be praying that anyone he does bring in is ready to hit the ground running in the Premier League.
West Ham’s problems can be traced back to Niclas Fullkrug signing
Niclas Fullkrug ended up being one of the Hammers’ worst signings in recent history.
Fullkrug joined West Ham for £27.3 million in the summer of 2024 and his signing proved to be a controversial one from the start.
It was immediately clear to see that the 32-year-old was painfully ill-suited to Premier League football from his very first appearance for the club.
What made the Hammers’ move to sign Fullkrug even more annoying at the time was the fact that they could have paid £13 million or so more to secure the signature of Jhon Duran.

With the Colombian’s electric pace and frightening finishing ability, he would have been absolutely perfect for West Ham.
It’s fair to suggest that Duran would have been the best £40 million West Ham ever spent.
Bringing Fullkrug to the club instead was the equivalent of walking into a shop to buy an iPhone and walking out with a Nokia 3210.
Ever since Fullkrug joined the Hammers, along with a whole host of bang average players including the likes of Max Kilman, Jean-Clair Todibo and Guido Rodriguez, West Ham have been on a downward spiral.
However, it’s fair to argue that the German was the worst signing of the lot during the doomed summer of 2024.
Had West Ham signed Duran instead of Fullkrug, things could have been so different for them right now.
Niclas Fullkrug disaster was so predictable
Fullkrug has, of course, left the Hammers now.
The German joined AC Milan on loan at the start of this month and the Serie A giants have an option to make that deal a permanent one in the summer.
What would you say if you heard West Ham could RE-SIGN Kurt Zouma? 🇫🇷
There is no doubt that the former Borussia Dortmund man will have more joy in Italy than he did in England, due to the more pedestrian pace of play in Serie A.
The really frustrating thing about the Fullkrug deal is that almost every single West Ham fan called it at the time he was signed.
He was a terrible fit for the Hammers.
Jhon Duran would have taken West Ham to another level entirely at the time but the ageing Niclas Fullkrug was signed instead.
A terrible mistake from the Hammers – one that they are still paying for today.
