The Liverpool skipper has been in sensational form over the past two or three years.

The Reds signed the 30-year-old from Sunderland in 2011 for around £20 million (BBC).

Henderson initially struggled to impress at Anfield. But he is now viewed as one of Jurgen Klopp’s most important players.

And it seems as though he is highly appreciated outside of Liverpool as well.

West Ham ace Declan Rice raved about Henderson, when speaking to England’s official YouTube channel. He highlighted how much he can learn from his fellow countryman:

“I think if you look at Jordan what he’s done in the game for his whole career really, but especially the last couple of years, I think it’s so important for someone like me to be playing next to him, to learn, to get better. I think the main thing I pick up from him is we already know his qualities on the ball, but you don’t realise until you’re playing next to him his leadership qualities and what he actually brings to the team. He’s non-stop, always on you in a good way, in a positive way.”

Declan learning from the very best

Rice is a great player in his own right. But being on international duty with England will undoubtedly improve the Hammers ace as a player even further still.

Henderson’s leadership, energy, stamina and enthusiasm for the game are all attributes that have made him one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the Premier League, if not the world.

Sure the Liverpool star isn’t the most technically gifted. He more than makes up for that with commitment, willingness and drive, however.

In fairness, Rice possesses all of those traits as well.

The West Ham youngster has the ability to go on and become one of the very best players in the world.

And it would do him no harm whatsoever to watch and learn from the way in which Henderson goes about his business with Liverpool and England.
