West Ham United play host to Celta Vigo in our final pre-season friendly before the new Premier League season begins next weekend.
And Julen Lopetegui has named a very strong starting lineup for the clash with the La Liga side.
West Ham have experienced somewhat of a poor pre-season campaign so far, having won only one game, and Lopetegui has made it very clear to his players that they must improve.
In fairness to the Hammers head coach, he has been unable to call upon probably 7-8 players who will be regular starters for us – new signings included.
Since our defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend, Lopetegui has added four new signings to his ranks, with an eighth pending in the form of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

With those players, and the impending return of the injured Edson Alvarez, West Ham will undoubtedly be a completely different animal.
So how has Lopetegui lined up this afternoon?
West Ham starting lineup vs Celta Vigo confirmed
Lopetegui has opted for an extremely strong XI for the game against the Spaniards.
It will be really exciting to see some of the new boys in action.
Here’s the lineup, as confirmed via the West Ham X account:

Alphonse Areola, Vladimir Coufal, Max Kilman, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Emerson Palmieri, Guido Rodriguez, Tomas Soucek, Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus, Michail Antonio
It will be interesting to see how Lopetegui sets up this afternoon.
I’m looking forward to seeing the Hammers head coach implement his aggressive high press this afternoon.
These are exciting times for the West Ham fans. I think that we will find a lot out about Lopetegui’s side this afternoon.
Niclas Fullkrug and Crysencio Summerville are on the bench so we will undoubtedly see those two at some point int he second-half.
I’m hoping to see Luis Guilherme and George Earthy get some action as well. It should be a really interesting afternoon at the London Stadium.
