West Ham have shared the gutting comeback timeframe for Crysencio Seummerville after he relented and had surgery on his hamstring.

When it rains, it really does pour for West Ham.
The Hammers have been terrible all the way back to January 2024 now and a host of factors are to blame.
But there’s no hiding the fact West Ham have also had some rotten luck along the way too.
One such example is Crysencio Summerville.
Julen Lopetegui infuriated Hammers fans by keeping the Dutchman on the bench for much of his tenure.
Summerville had excited supporters since arriving in a bargain £26m deal from Leeds.
West Ham have a great track record of signing players from the Championship and Summerville looked set to be another success story.

There has been no honeymoon period for Graham Potter since he took over from Lopetegui.
West Ham have gone backwards from 13th to 17th since Potter took charge on January 9th.
While there are no excuses for many of the results and collapses, much of the team’s struggles can be charted back to Potter’s first game in charge.
Potter was thrust straight into the action within 24 hours of being named Hammers boss.
West Ham had already lost Michail Antonio, Jean-Clair Todibo and Jarrod Bowen prior to Potter’s arrival.
Then Niclas Fullkrug and Summerville were struck down 45 minutes into Potter’s tenure.
That first half at Villa in the FA Cup has arguably been the best West Ham have looked under their struggling new boss.
West Ham’s approach in that match was exactly what supporters have been crying out for since some grew fed up of the style of play under David Moyes.

After that game, the manager said Summerville was subbed as a precaution. But he has been out ever since.
Supporters have bemoaned Summerville’s absence as his pace and skill gave the team something different. He was the best player on the pitch in Potter’s first half in charge and supporters – and undoubtedly the manager too – wanted to see much more of the same.
Summerville returned to training in February but suffered a setback and has not been able to train fully since.
News emerged from club sources over the last month the star had decided against having an operation, preferring instead to let the issue heal naturally.
At the time the Hammers admitted there was a possibility Summerville would be out even longer if he chose to heal naturally.

But it was also stated the natural healing route might work out better long-term.
What West Ham did admit at the time was that his particular hamstring injury meant Summerville’s choice to rule out surgery raised the possibility it could return.
Now West Ham have shared their gutting Summerville comeback timeframe as the star relents on surgery.
Taking to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday night, Summerville posted a selfie giving the thumbs up from his hospital bed after having the surgery.
“First of all thank you God everything went well with the surgery,” Summerville said.
“Hammers, it wasn’t the season we hoped for, but we will be back next season to give our all for the club and the fans. On a personal note I will focus on my recovery and my comeback now and I can’t wait to be back and show you guys the magic you’ve been waiting for.
“I hope to see you guys soon! CS. COYI.”

But how soon?
Hammers News reached out to the top spokesman for West Ham’s owners for an idea.
And the news is not great.
Because Summerville won’t be ready to take part in pre-season training and is expected to be sidelined from training for 10-12 weeks.
“No it is not anticipated he will be able to train in pre-season,” the senior London Stadium spokesman told Hammers News.
“As he delayed it, which was his prerogative of course, the fact of the matter is it’s now a much longer job.
“I doubt we’ll see him until mid-August.”
That’s not what Potter or Hammers fans will want to hear as Summerville will be a key player and the team needs to hit the ground running next season.
The new Premier League season gets underway on August 16th.
So if Summerville comes back around then as suggested, he will need at least four to six weeks training before being Premier League ready.
To get Summerville up to speed it may be the wait goes into September judging by the club’s update.
All West Ham can do now is to hope Summerville heals more quickly than the norm to have him back as soon as possible.
