Two historic clubs with two very different objectives this season

The Hammers travel to Newcastle today knowing a win will move them up to third place with six games to play.

David Moyes has plenty of experience of facing Newcastle. So do most of his players.

But it seems the one West Ham star who has never faced the Magpies knows the most about them.

Coufal has revealed his admiration and respect for all things Newcastle in a great interview with West Ham’s official website ahead of the crunch clash.

The 28-year-old has revealed he cannot wait to play at St James’s Park – which he lists as one of his favourite stadiums in Europe.

Coufal reveals his admiration for all things Newcastle and warns about dangerous duo

Coufi – as he is affectionately known to his teammates – also loves the film Goal and the Newcastle fans’s respect for late former Prem star and fellow Czech Pavel Srnicek.

He is wary too of the threat that is posed by dangerous duo Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin.

“Like always in the Premier League, I expect a very difficult game, especially in St James’ Park,” Coufal told

“I am really looking forward to it, because it is one of my favourite stadiums in England, to be honest.

‘When I saw the move Goal I loved the stadium even more’

“Overall this stadium is very, very nice and I saw Pavel Srnicek play for Newcastle and I think the fans there love him.

“Then, when I saw the movie ‘Goal!’, since then I’ve loved this stadium even more

“But, getting back to the game, they are getting better in their last two or three matches and won against Burnley, and now they are ready for us.

“I think they are healthy now with Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin, so those are reasons to be very careful because those two guys are very good together and we have to be ready for everything.”
