The West Ham United owners will have to spend big this summer, if they are to appoint one man in particular to replace David Moyes.
David Moyes is facing heavy criticism from some sections of the West Ham fans, and recent reports have claimed that the owners could be set to appoint a new manager at the end of the season.
As things stand though, no final decision has been made on his future.
That said, Sullivan was said to be extremely angry with Moyes after some of the Scot’s comments to the press back in February after our miserable run of form culminated with a 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest.
Moyes returned to the London Stadium for the second time in December 2019, and has since taken us on to another level entirely.
The Scot has guided us to three successive European campaigns, and helped end our 43-year wait for a major trophy last season.

Even the most ardent of ‘Moyes out’ supporters would surely admit that the 60-year-old has done a fine job in charge of the Hammers over the past four years.
That said, the criticism that Moyes has received this season is more than justified. The football that he deploys at times with the likes of Lucas Paqueta, Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen amongst his ranks is just completely unacceptable.
My main issue with him is that I firmly believe he’s reached his ceiling in charge of West Ham, and he is no longer able to take us to the next level.
So are the owners really ready to make a managerial change?
West Ham must pay £8.6m to appoint Premier League manager
It seems as though the Hammers board are eyeing up numerous candidates to replace Moyes in the summer.
It’s no surprise really is it, our form since the turn of the year has been atrocious. Our last 16 games in all competitions have yielded just three victories:
- 3 wins
- 7 draws
- 6 losses
It would be no surprise whatsoever to see Moyes moved on at the end of the seaosn, but who’s being lined up to replace him?

According to a report from The Sun, West Ham are on red alert when it comes to the possibility of appointing Fulham boss Marco Silva to replace Moyes this summer – someone who’s been heavily linked with us before.
However, there is a huge problem – the Portuguese gaffer has a massive £8.6 million release clause inserted into his contract at Craven Cottage.
Now, every West Ham fan will be well aware that David Sullivan quite simply won’t be paying anything like that kind of money for a new manager, unless he’s planning to change how he has worked throughout his entire career.
I have to say though, I wouldn’t be overly enamoured with Silva coming in to replace Moyes anyway. There is an argument to be made that he’s actually not even a better manager than the Scot.
Sure, the 46-year-old implements a more exciting brand of football than Moyes does but he certainly hasn’t achieved more than the Scot.
Silva predominantly sets up his team in a 4-2-3-1 formation, although that is extremely fluid and changes in and out of possession. The Portuguese likes to have a tall striker acting as the focal point for his team, and he mixes things up as far as playing out from the back goes.
Sometimes the 46-year-old will have his team play far more direct football whenever the situation calls for it. Fulham play with a very fluid style, and are easy on the eye.
I think Silva would be a decent option to replace Moyes. However, it must be said that he failed at Everton after being heavily backed in the transfer market as well. I actually don’t think he would be able to take us to the next level.
The good news is that if the 46-year-old really does have an £8.6 million release clause, the West Ham owners will not appoint him as our new manager, I can assure you of that.
