West Ham make first official move to bring London-born striker back to the Premier League

West Ham United are plotting a move to sign a former Premier League striker this summer.

Graham Potter clearly needs to bolster his centre-forward ranks at West Ham this summer.

It has been claimed that it’s looking more and more likely that West Ham will not sign Evan Ferguson on a permanent deal.

Ferguson has struggled to make much of an impact at the London Stadium so far.

And Potter could now be prepared to look elsewhere.

And in my opinion, that’s a good thing.

West Ham make first official move to sign Tammy Abraham

AC Milan striker Tammy Abraham is a transfer target for the Hammers.

West Ham have been linked with Tammy Abraham for quite some time now, most recently in the summer of 2024 before he eventually joined Milan from Roma.

And now the Hammers are set to try again for the 27-year-old.

Calciomercato claim that West Ham have made contact with Abraham’s agents about potentially bringing the striker back to the Premier League in the summer.

His record is incredibly impressive, with 138 goals in in 374 career appearances for club and country to his name.

West Ham get answer from Tammy Abraham

Tammy would be prepared to move back to the Premier League according Calcio Mercato.

However, it is suggested that he would prefer to join a so-called ‘top club’.

So it remains to be seen whether the Hammers will be able to tempt him to move to the London Stadium.

The 6ft 5in striker is proven at the very highest level but beware, his injury record is hugely concerning.

He missed pretty much the entire 2023/24 season with an ACL injury.

And there have been signs that he’s not quite the same player after that. Tammy has definitely lost a yard of pace, and I rally believe that West Ham need to move away from signing injury prone players.

I would be hugely surprised if Graham Potter brought Tammy Abraham to West Ham this summer.

The Hammers head coach would be much better served by going for a younger, more robust striker with a higher ceiling than Abraham.
