Shortly before West Ham United beat QPR in the FA Cup on Sunday, one of their loanees added another medal to his collection.
While Edson Alvarez may not have always covered himself in glory during his time at West Ham United, the midfielder has had a successful time of it elsewhere.

The 28-year-old had lifted trophies with Club America, Ajax and Mexico prior to his arrival in east London back in 2023.
Clearly, things did not go to plan for Alvarez at West Ham. After a decent start, he endured a largely terrible time of things and was sent out on loan to Turkish giants Fenerbahce last summer.
While Alvarez has sometimes impressed for Fenerbahce, he was forced to sit out of Saturday ‘s huge game for them.

The midfielder was forced to sit out of his side’s win over arch rivals Galatasaray on Saturday night.
Having missed the Istanbul giants’ last two games, he did not make the squad for Saturday’s final.
He was, however, seen celebrating their victory with a medal around his neck in an image posted on Marco Asensio’s official Instagram account.

West Ham have moved on from Edson Alvarez
Alvarez won’t be returning to West Ham this season and, frankly, there’s little need for it.
Though a deeper squad is always a good thing to have in a relegation battle, West Ham need little help from the former Ajax midfielder at this stage.

Soungoutou Magassa, Mateus Fernandes and Freddie Potts all offer energetic midfield cover.
There is simply no need for Alvarez any longer and it’s not as if he covered himself in glory for most of his time at West Ham.
The experiment has come to an end.
