It is being reported that Karren Brady will resign imminently as vice-chair of West Ham following weeks of speculation and now an ally of majority owner David Sullivan has revealed the truth.

The future of Karren Brady as West Ham vice-chair is once again in the spotlight following a claim by a prominent journalist.

Nuno is right – but how worried are YOU about the future? 🤔

Brady has controlled the day-to-day running of West Ham since her arrival in 2010.

After turning around the club’s dire finances from reportedly being £100m in debt and on the brink of administration to the 16th most lucrative club in world football during their European adventures, the Hammers have just posted record losses of £104m.

Board ally reveals truth about Brady leaving West Ham

That has put Brady’s future back under the microscope and Observer journalist George Simms claims she is set to resign from her position at West Ham imminently.

That has prompted a close ally of Hammers chief David Sullivan to reveal the truth behind the journalist’s bold claim.

Simms stated that Brady is considering imminent resignation, in part due to the accounts, but not helped by the December departure of her long-term friend and ally Tara Warren.

Now Hammers insider Sean Whetstone, who counts Sullivan and Brady as close contacts at West Ham, has addressed Simms’ claim.

Whetstone says Brady has privately denied she is about to resign from West Ham.

And he has denied that the publication of the Hammers accounts on Friday and the departure of her right hand woman Warren are NOT factors that will influence her leaving West Ham in the future.

Whetstone even suggests Simms’ article is a delayed response to rumours about Brady’s resignation from last week which spread online but amounted to nothing.

Journalist: Brady exit could hasten Sullivan departure at West Ham

Simms also reported that Brady resigning would hasten the departure of Sullivan.

“You have to question what Sullivan gets out of maintaining control of West Ham: loathed by fans and unwilling to change,” Simms writes.

“This is now a solely selfish pursuit, damaging a beloved club to soothe his ego. If Brady does leave, he will be the sole face of a failing institution, knowing deep down that he has failed it.”

Football finance expert Kieran Maguire says West Ham’s losses are Premier League’s worst yet.

Already unpopular with a large section of Hammers fans, the dismal accounts have seen renewed calls for the Baroness to stand down, especially after they meant Brady broke a major promise she made in 2010.

Brady further enraged West Ham fans by ignoring the issue in her latest newspaper column, instead accusing the EFL of ‘greed’.
