West Ham have issued a six-word response after a summit over the future of Nuno Espirito Santo and who will lead the club next season ended in stalemate.
Hammers News was the first to reveal Nuno Espirito Santo would leave West Ham if the club was relegated.
Over a month ago we revealed the Portuguese’s three-year contract was only applicable if the club remained in the Premier League.
It contains a mutual break clause which means Nuno can be let go after failing to keep the Hammers up in his 33-games in charge and can walk away himself even if the club wanted to keep him.

West Ham responded on Nuno’s future and the club’s complicated expectations for next season as the dust settled on relegation yesterday.
That was ahead of a Hammers summit meeting over the managerial position.

Now West Ham have issued a six-word response after Nuno talks ended in stalemate.
The national press, who are suddenly showing interest in West Ham now the club has been relegated, have been slow to the game over Nuno’s future.

Last night they reported that his future is in the balance after talks with West Ham bosses ended without a decision one way or another.
Nuno was summoned to David Sullivan’s Essex mansion on Bank Holiday Monday with the outcome expected to be the 52-year-old’s departure after eight months in charge.
But Nuno left Sullivan’s sprawling Theydon Bois estate with the situation unresolved and further discussions over West Ham’s managerial position planned.
It has been widely reported that the situation is being complicated by the fact that Sullivan and “other key decision-makers” are at odds over the best way forward.
West Ham reveal when managerial situation will be resolved
But Hammers News understands Nuno is still very much set to leave and that any sticking point revolves around how the departure will be communicated.
We asked the most senior spokesman for West Ham’s joint-chairs Sullivan, Daniel Kretinsky and Vanessa Gold for an update on the managerial situation.
Imagine YOU are in control! Who are you hiring to replace Nuno? 🤔
Tell us who and why below 👇
And the Hammers issued the following response: “Everything will be resolved this week.”
Whether that means the departure of Nuno and appointment of his replacement remains to be seen.
Scott Parker is said to be a leading candidate while fellow former Hammers Craig Bellamy and Gary O’Neil are also said to be in contention.

Options are thin on the ground but an elite manager who Sullivan wanted last year has suddenly become available too.
While Nuno is regarded to have done a decent job in turning the team around since January, much of the credit among West Ham’s players has gone to Paco Jemez for the revival.
Prior to that Nuno had failed miserably to get a tune out of the team since replacing Graham Potter in September despite having plenty of time to save West Ham’s season.
Some of Nuno’s tactics and team selections left fans and the media baffled, costing West Ham dearly in many games, making it even more galling that the club missed out on survival by a solitary win.
Now the Hammers face a gruelling 46-game Championship season after what is expected to be another huge summer of transition with the board expecting promotion.
That is no easy task in a division that is much more fiercely competitive than it was when West Ham were last down there 14 years ago.
West Ham have failed to secure automatic promotion in any of their last three seasons in the Championship following relegations in 2003 and 2011, relying on the play-offs – losing once and winning twice.
The date West Ham find out the fixtures for the 2026-27 season has been revealed along with every team they will face.
