The season has started well for West Ham in all competitions so far and they will be happy as they currently sit seventh in the Premier League despite some very tough fixtures.
David Moyes now has the tough task of facing a strong Aston Villa side at Villa Park. West Ham sit two places below Villa. They only have two points less than their upcoming opponents.

With the Hammers having to play twice a week on some occasions and also travelling around Europe, having as big a squad as possible is key.

Aaron Cresswell Injury Update

LAST UPDATE: September 29th 2023
Aaron Cresswell is yet to play in the Premier League this season due to injury, but it looks like his return could be around the corner. The defender is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury but he is getting closer to his return and has been recovering well over the international break. There is a chance he could be in the squad against Aston Villa, but with no Premier League minutes this season, he will need to also get back to match fitness.
Expected Return: 22nd October 2023
Ben Johnson Injury Update

LAST UPDATE: October 4th 2023
Ben Johnson currently has a groin injury which he suffered in early October. The injury didn’t sound too serious and the international break came at a perfect time for the defender to recover. The groin was feeling a bit tight so he wasn’t risked for West Ham’s last game before the international break, but he could be back in the squad to face Aston Villa.
Expected Return: 22nd October 2023
Lukasz Fabianski Injury Update

LAST UPDATE: October 8th 2023
Lukasz Fabianski started in the Europa League in early October but was not in the squad for the match three days later against Newcastle. The reason behind this was due to the fact that he picked up an injury. The injury is a minor knock, and the club do not believe that he will be out of the squad for much longer, but it looks like he could miss the Aston Villa game.
Expected Return: No Return Date
