West Ham have linked with a fresh move for coveted attack-minded boss Paulo Fonseca as Graham Potter is all but ruled out.
It seems nobody actually knows what the future holds for David Moyes at West Ham beyond this season.
There is an almost incessant stream of claim and counter claim about Moyes’ West Ham future from various outlets.
One minute the West Ham board have decided to part ways regardless of whether the Hammers win the Europa Conference League.
The next minute the manager himself has decided to leave with specific personal reasons even being given for his departure.
And by the time you get to the end of one story there is another reporting the opposite – such as the latest from journalist Jacob Steinberg this week stating Moyes is set to stay at West Ham next season.

West Ham in fresh link to coveted attack-minded boss Paulo Fonseca as Graham Potter is all but ruled out
With the various different takes on what might happen at the end of the season, it is hardly surprising the rumour mill over who might replace Moyes continues to whirr.
Now West Ham are mentioned in a fresh link to coveted attack-minded boss Paulo Fonseca as Graham Potter is all but ruled out.
Lille boss Fonseca and axed Chelsea manager Potter have been heavily linked as potential replacements for Moyes – along with a host of others – for some time.
According to reports from L’Équipe in France, Fonseca’s future at Lille – where he has impressed by leading them into Europe with a fifth place finish in Ligue 1 – is uncertain due to continued interest from West Ham.
The claim, as also reported by GFFN, states Lille’s FFP restrictions are making ambitious Fonseca restless. And the interest from the Hammers is casting a shadow over his future.

More managerial rumours amid Moyes claim and counter claim
“Paulo Fonseca’s Lille future is unclear amid West Ham interest,” the reports state.
“The Portuguese manager would like to see the club show ambition in the upcoming transfer window before committing his future to the northerners. The former Roma and Shakhtar Donetsk coach has another year left on his contract, but has also been the subject of interest from West Ham…
“Fonseca is unlikely to see the club match his own squad-building ambitions this summer.
“West Ham, although interested in Fonseca, have yet to make a concrete offer to the 50-year-old.”
Meanwhile Lille’s rivals Nice look set to scupper any West Ham hopes of appointing Potter should Moyes depart.
L’Équipe are reporting that Potter, who has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea in April, is the favourite to take over from Didier Digard at OGC Nice.
Alleged West Ham target Potter is reportedly interested in taking the role and meetings have ‘already taken place’ according to Foot Mercato.
