There will be real change at West Ham United in the summer transfer window.

Graham Potter wants to completely rebuild his West Ham squad, with numerous new additions required at the London Stadium.

The problem for Graham Potter is that funds are tight at West Ham right now.

The Hammers head coach will have to move on the deadwood this summer, and maybe one or two so-called key players as well.

The good news for Potter is that one underperforming big money signing is attracting interest from one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

West Ham man Edson Alvarez on Euro giants radar

Edson Alvarez is said to be far from guaranteed to start under Potter next season.

And as a result, he could be sent packing when the summer transfer window opens.

West Ham midfielder Edson Alvarez could be replaced by Angel Gomes this summer, and the Mexican is attracting interest from a very big club indeed.

According to El Universal, Borussia Dortmund are keen to bring Alvarez to the Bundesliga this summer.

And it is suggested that they have already made an enquiry for the 27-year-old Hammers midfielder. Monaco are said to be eyeing up the Mexico international as well.

Edson Alvarez wanted by Premier League giants too

Signed for £32 million from Ajax in 2023 (Evening Standard), Alvarez hasn’t quite lived up to expectations at the London Stadium.

His lack of discipline has cost him, and indeed the Hammers, on numerous occasions.

However, there is definitely a player in there somewhere. If he manages to quell the ill-discipline that has plagued his Hammers career, he could reach the top level.

Edson Alvarez could actually leave West Ham to join Chelsea this summer, it was claimed recently.

And whilst that move is unlikely to happen, a switch to Borussia Dortmund or Monaco will be a very real possibility for the Mexican this summer.
