Some West Ham fans are expecting big things from the young Dane this season.
David Moyes may well be eyeing a key role for Alves at the London Stadium as well with Fabian Balbuena having recently left the club.
The former Silkeborg ace was in top form during last night’s pre-season friendly against Northampton.
He was dominant in the air and showcased impressive recovery pace.
The 21-year-old got Craig Dawson out of trouble a few times as well.

Whether he is ready to play regularly in the Premier League this season is debatable.
He certainly did himself no harm with his performance against Northampton last night, however. And he clearly has all of the physical attributes needed to succeed in English football.
