West Ham and Arsenal both face big European quarter-final ties against the top two clubs in Germany in the coming weeks.
West Ham actually have the tougher assignment, taking on Germany’s invincibles and Bundesliga champions-in-waiting Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League last eight.
Meanwhile Arsenal face Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
They are big occasions for both West Ham and Arsenal.
Especially for the Gunners who are playing in the knockout rounds of Europe’s elite competition for the first time in seven seasons.
That’s something West Ham have managed three seasons on the bounce, culminating in winning a third European trophy in the club’s history last summer.
West Ham shame Arsenal with away support
Ever since West Ham sold captain Declan Rice to Arsenal in the summer, the club’s fans have had to suffer the ignominy of being called a feeder club and small club by some Gunners supporters.
But West Ham fans don’t see Arsenal in the same light they see themselves.
When Rice has faced the Hammers, he has been politely reminded by his old fans that he should have signed for a big club.
Now West Ham fans have put Arsenal to shame with contrasting European fan power.

Gunners anticipate ticket availability to fans with four points
When tickets went on sale for West Ham’s first leg away game at Leverkusen, they were sold out in no time.
The tickets went to Hammers fans with 51 or more priority points.
That means West Ham sold their away allocation to supporters who have been to 51 plus away games in the last two seasons.
With Premier League, European and cup games combined that is nearly every single West Ham away game in that period.
But Arsenal are struggling to sell their away allocation for Bayern Munich.
It is currently open to fans with five plus points.
And the Gunners have announced that on Tuesday April 2nd at 1pm they anticipate away tickets for that huge clash in Munich will go on sale to Arsenal fans with just FOUR points or more.
West Ham’s following is so massive, thousands of the the club’s fans paid a Leverkusen membership fee to get tickets in the home end for that away clash too.
At one point there were over 100,000 people queuing for tickets.
Hundreds of Hammers fans were reportedly successful according to The Daily Mail.
What’s that the fans sing again?
West Ham are massive, everywhere we go.
Well if the Hammers are massive it seems Arsenal are passive when it comes to away following.
