Many Hammers supporters are growing increasingly frustrated by the club’s lack of transfer activity so far in the January window.
David Moyes has publicly stated he wants to sign a striker and a defender this month.
And fans were expectant after the arrivals of Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky as West Ham’s new co-owner and Rob Newman as head of recruitment earlier this season.
But West Ham are yet to see the benefits with Moyes admitting at the weekend he has been trying, without success, to sign a new striker for two years.
West Ham fans would love to see another January signing like Tomas Soucek or in the mould of a Jarrod Bowen or Jesse Lingard.
The clock is ticking on with the window slamming shut in four days, though. And Hammers supporters are concerned a promising season could fizzle out if Moyes does not bring in fresh blood.
There has been some good news for West Ham after it emerged this week that Soucek is in talks over a new contract with the club (Claret and Hugh).
The big Czech is a huge fan favourite. The midfielder has showed his selflessness this season by accepting a new role which allows Declan Rice more freedom to roam around the pitch – even though it has been detrimental to Soucek’s personal stats.
While other Premier League stars are jetting off around the world getting some sun on their backs, Soucek typically showed his supreme dedication to the cause once after posting a picture of himself keeping fit during his downtime.
And his training partner is his wife.
Mr and Mrs Soucek are enjoying a ski break as the midfielder likes to keep active. But he has also been putting the wok in at the gym.
Soucek posted the picture working out with his wife on Twitter with the caption “training mate”.
And he also posted a video of himself cross-country skiing at night, saying: “Fun and work are always friends. No days off even on the holiday trip!”
