Some West Ham fans have reacted furiously on Twitter to Jim White’s baffling claim about Vladimir Coufal.

The talkSPORT pundit suggested yesterday that there was an outcry from some West Ham fans when Vladimir Coufal was signed in October:

“I am no mouthpiece for Gold and Sullivan and I really do mean that. But you’ve got to salute what they have done. There was an outcry when Coufal was bought for £5 million and West Ham fans were saying what do you get for £5 million? Vladimir Coufal has been a revelation in a West Ham shirt.”
White’s claim really is truly baffling. And it is a long way from the truth.
If there was any kind of outcry whatsoever, it was aimed at the absurdity of Tomas Soucek having to recommend a player, rather than the board having a coherent scouting structure in place to identify potential signings.
That’s the crux of the matter.
We don’t care about how much the club pays to sign players.
Sebastien Haller was signed for £45 million after all, and he completely flopped.

All we ask is that David Moyes is given the tools needed to succeed at the London Stadium.
The West Ham fans are incredibly loyal bunch but we won’t stand idly by whilst our character is defamed.
Certainly when we have been unfairly criticised.
