Clive Tyldesley said it best when commentating on the Czech Republic yesterday, from the very start Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal just GOT West Ham United.

The duo have turned out to be two of the most astonishing bargain signings in West Ham’s modern history.

Soucek scored 10 goals in his first full season after signing for £18m from Slavia Prague and broke all manner of Premier League records including running stats and duels won – both aerially and on the deck.

Hammers fans have been willing Czech mates to do well at Euros

Coufal has arguably been an even bigger bargain. West Ham effectively purchased one of the best right backs in European football for £5.5m – enough said.

Soucek established himself as one of the most well liked players in the Premier League with his interviews and work ethic. While Coufal underlined his cult hero status when he was pictured catching the bus after training.

David Moyes hailed his two Czech mates as key to West Ham’s change in mindset and fortunes. The Scot even revealed he has to drag them off the training ground where they usually turn up on days off to do extra running.

Bloodied and bandaged Soucek and his big pal Coufal crash out

Hammers supporters have been willing the duo to do well for Czech Republic on their way to the quarter-finals of Euro 2020.

But the vast – and frankly unfair – amount of travelling West Ham’s stars and their teammates have had to do in the tournament looked to have caught up with them when they lost 2-1 to Denmark yesterday.

The familiar sight of a bloodied and bandaged Soucek only made it harder for West Ham fans to see their heroes suffer.

But West Ham supporters are famed for their wit.

West Ham fans make tongue-in-cheek prediction about Soucek and Coufal

And there was no shortage of that as some supporters made a tongue-in-cheek prediction that Coufal and Soucek will pass up a summer break and go straight back for pre-season training at Rush Green.

Some of the responses are just as hilarious and show how well thought of the duo are by West Ham fans.

In other West Ham news, The Sun has been forced to apologise to the Hammers over a false story it ran about contract offers made to Declan Rice.

And West Ham star gives Moyes a two-word response when asked about missing the England midfield ace.
