West Ham United have confirmed Keiber Lamadrid’s shirt number at the London Stadium as the Venezuela international follows in the footsteps of Angelo Ogbonna, Demba Ba, Rob Green and more.

Adama Traore inherited Jarrod Bowen’s old number 17 when he became Nuno Espirito Santo’s fourth signing of the January transfer window last week.

Taty Castellanos was handed number 11. Pablo Felipe wears 19.

We all love the club to bits, but let’s be real – what would you have to tell a new signing to convince them to join?! 😔

Chelsea misfit Axel Disasi underwent medical tests with the Hammers on deadline day, meanwhile. If we were to put a bet on which number he will wear when his transfer is completed, we would guess at five. That was the shirt worn briefly by Igor Julio before the Brazilian returned to Brighton and Hove Albion ahead of schedule.

As for Keiber Lamadrid, the most under-the-radar and unproven of West Ham United’s new faces, it has been confirmed on the club’s official website that he will wear the number 21 at the London Stadium.

The youngster’s agent claimed last week that Keiber Lamadrid is viewed as a senior signing at West Ham. The Deportivo la Guaira loanee features in the Under-21 section of their website, rather than alongside the Jarrod Bowens, the Aaron Wan-Bissakas and the Mateus Fernandes, but it feels significant that he has been handed a first-team shirt number rather than one in the 40s or the 50s.

Hammers News have confirmed that West Ham could sign Lamadrid permanently for around £1 million should he impress over the next few months. The one-time Venezuela international has ‘surprised’ his new employers already, having demonstrated impressive levels of fitness despite not having played a competitive game since November.

“Two or three years ago, we couldn’t have told you he’d be going to the Premier League!” Alexis Jordan, Deportivo la Guaira’s youth coordinator, said on the Fernando Petrocelli y la Ruta Vinotinto YouTube channel.

“But seeing him every day, seeing how intelligent he is at understanding coach [Juan Domingo] Tolisano’s instructions…

How much of the £40m that we spent on Max Kilman could we realistically get back?!

“The West Ham fitness coaches are already in contact with ours. They are pleasantly surprised by his physical balance and his test results.

“They will [develop] him slowly. With [clubs in] England playing three or four different cups, he will get his chance. Whether they exercise the buy option in six months or loan him elsewhere, his growth will be exponential.”

Lamadrid will be hoping to emulate ex-Newcastle and Chelsea striker Demba Ba.

Another who wore the number 21 kit and another January addition, Ba scored seven goals in 10 games after joining on loan from Hoffenheim in the middle of the 2010/11 campaign.
