West Ham United are reportedly closing in on a replacement sponsor to feature on their first ever New Balance kit which launches this summer.

West Ham are moving on from a long-running partnership with Umbro when the deal expires at the end of the season.

This season’s 130-year anniversary kit was Umbro’s last for West Ham – until 2031 at least.

The Hammers are switching to leading US sports brand New Balance in a five-year deal starting this summer.

Big summer of changes for West Ham kit make and sponsor

It won’t be the only major kit change for the Irons, though.

Because West Ham are closing in on a fresh sponsor for their first ever New Balance kit ahead of summer changes.

Back in 2024, Premier League clubs voluntarily agreed to ban gambling companies from being main shirt sponsors from the 2026/27 season.

West Ham signed up to a one-year deal with Boyle Sports to replace fellow betting firm Betway last summer.

Now Boyle Sports will be replaced – and a popular holiday destination could be emblazoned across West Ham’s first New Balance kit.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand has revealed it is in discussions with West Ham over a potential partnership to promote the country.

Nithee Seeprae, the deputy governor for marketing communications at TAT, has taken to social media to announce that the agency has held talks with the Hammers about possible sponsorship activities for next season’s New Balance West Ham kit.

Seeprae even shared several images, including two of West Ham’s current home shirt featuring the “Amazing Thailand” logo.

“Amazing Thailand” to become new West Ham sponsor after talks?

The Tourism Authority of Thailand held talks with the Hammers at the London Stadium with Nathan Thompson, West Ham’s executive director for commercial, marketing, digital and content, and an unnamed member of the club’s board present, according to insider Sean Whetstone.

While betting companies are banned as front of shirt sponsors from next season, Whetstone has claimed Boyle Sports have agreed to become West Ham’s sleeve sponsor next season instead.

So West Ham fans can expect to see ‘Amazing Thailand’ feature on the front of their New Balance kit from this summer it seems.

New Balance is a major player in the footwear and sportswear industry with a strong global presence and annual revenue of nearly £6bn.

As things stand – if Nuno Espirito Santo’s side win their battle for survival – West Ham would be the only Premier League club with New Balance as their kit maker.

The firm previously made Liverpool’s kits before they moved over to Nike.

The first West Ham New Balance concept kits were a sight to behold when they started dropping after the big announcement last summer.

The Hammers had been in talks with several kit manufacturers about a move away from Umbro before opting for New Balance last year.

Hammers News can confirm the club talked to several other major brands who make Premier League strips, including Castore, Puma and Macron in addition to Nike and Adidas.

Castore, who lost three Premier League clubs in Aston Villa, Newcastle and Wolves after much-publicised issues, were pushing hardest to replace Umbro as West Ham’s kit manufacturer.

But the Irons snubbed Castore to sign up with New Balance, who are headquartered in Boston and have a big store in Westfield Stratford next to the London Stadium.
