Andy Carroll is a cult hero at West Ham and Newcastle United and fans of both clubs won’t believe what he’s up to now.
If there’s one thing West Ham and Newcastle have in common, it’s their love for mavericks and top strikers.
Between the pair of them, West Ham and Newcastle United have had some of the most memorable forwards to grace English football down the years.
From insatiable goalscorers like Tony Cottee and Alan Shearer to fiery heroes Paolo Di Canio and Faustino Asprilla to name but a few.
Hammers and Magpies fans embrace those kind of players, perhaps more than any other.
Yes West Ham and Newcastle supporters want to see exciting, attractive attacking football.
But more importantly the Premier League rivals want players who wear their heart on the sleeve.
That’s why one former player who represented both is so well-liked in both Newcastle and east London.
West Ham and Newcastle won’t believe what Carroll has done
Andy Carroll carved out cult hero status for himself during his time at West Ham and two spells at his boyhood club Newcastle.
Injuries meant he did not play as many game, or score as many goals, as he maybe should’ve for the either club.
But it says everything about the desire, effort and passion Carroll showed every time he played for West Ham and Newcastle that fans of both clubs hold their former number nine in such high regard to this day.
As many fans will know, Carroll married into a family of West Ham fans when he got together with ex TOWIE star Billi Mucklow in London.
But his children have been brought up very much supporting both the Hammers and Newcastle.
Fans of both always keep an eye out for what the ‘big man’ is up to.

Big man Carroll shows his love for the game
And West Ham and Newcastle won’t believe what ex star Carroll has just done.
This time last year Carroll has made a surprise move from Reading to French second division side Amiens.
The now 35-year-old made 31 appearances for Amiens, scoring four goals – one of which was an absolute worldy.
Carroll’s injuries often meant he only managed more than 22 appearances in three of his 14 seasons split between West Ham and Newcastle.
Back in 2018, another striker who played for both clubs – Craig Bellamy – offered some brutal criticism of Carroll.
Bellamy questioned Carroll’s professionalism and desire to improve and play.
Well it seems there is nothing wrong with his desire now at the ripe old age of 35.
Carroll set for shock move to fourth tier Bordeaux
Because Carroll has showed how much he loves the game by signing for French fourth division side Bordeaux.
According to L’Équipe, Carroll is set to sign for the once famous club, who have fallen on hard times and tumbled down the French pyramid following their bankruptcy.
It’s claimed John Williams, who lured to Amiens, has now taken him to the National 2 – the fourth tier of French football – with Bordeaux.
Carroll’s has been all over Europe in recent times – and not just for his career.
He was spotted with his West Ham-supporting family following the club out to Holland for that European semi-final against AZ Alkmaar last year.
Carroll was pictured having a great time with Hammers fans ahead of that memorable 1-0 win which set up the final against Fiorentina.
It will be fascinating to see how Carroll gets on at that level. He should be a major source of goals as Bordeaux look to climb back up the ladder.
