West Ham United have addressed rumours regarding captain Jarrod Bowen and winger Crysencio Summerville ahead of the season finale which will decide their Premier League fate.
The Hammers must beat Leeds on Sunday and hope former manager David Moyes can do them a huge favour by leading his Everton side to victory at Tottenham.
Stranger things have happened in football than West Ham beating Leeds at home and Spurs losing to Everton.
But it is the only combination of results – from nine possible outcomes – that keeps Nuno Espirito Santo’s side in the Premier League.
West Ham respond to Bowen and Summerville claims
Hammers fans are clinging on to the old adage Where there is life, there is hope.
But in football, where there is the internet there are rumours.
How do YOU feel about Jarrod Bowen as a West Ham United captain….
Clearly a legend but a few dissenting voices 👀
And West Ham have now addressed speculation about captain Jarrod Bowen and key star Crysencio Summerville, which are clouding preparations heading into the club’s biggest game for 15 years.
A Hammers fan claiming to have previously worked at talkSPORT and have sources inside the club took to Reddit to post claims about Bowen, Summerville and the club ahead of the season finale.

The first was that Bowen was open to staying at the club if they drop into the Championship but won’t be because he has a relegation release clause of just £20m.
Another of the claims made in the post was that Summerville refused to be in a photoshoot for the club’s new kit, stating it was pointless because he wouldn’t be here to wear it next season.
West Ham are switching from Umbro to New Era this summer and kit launches are typically made around June or July.
Bowen clause and Summerville kit promo refusal denied by Hammers
The unverified claims are concerning as they threaten to derail the focus ahead of such a huge and pivotal match this weekend.
Especially as they have started to spread on social media and were also discussed on West Ham Fan TV.
We NEED David Moyes’ help again! 🙏 Tell us your prediction for Tottenham vs Everton…
Everton's impressive away record gives us hope! 🤞
So Hammers News put the claims to the top spokesman for the club’s board, who has responded emphatically with some encouraging news to boot.
As also reported by ExWHUemployee on The West Ham Way overnight, the Hammers have shot down the Bowen claim.

“Jarrod does not have a release clause and if anything we would want to keep him here even if we are in the Championship,” the top West Ham spokesman also told Hammers News.
“The player refusing to take part in the kit photoshoot is news to me and we would know, it’s rubbish probably designed to distract from what’s really important, which is beating Leeds to try and stay up.”
Interestingly the post in which the claims were made about Bowen and Summerville has now been deleted.
Bowen signed a seven-year deal in 2023 and West Ham also have the option to extend it for an eighth year. The Hammers skipper has also said on multiple occasions he wanted to retire at the club.
The wingers have actually been at the centre of other malicious rumours on social media of late which do not even warrant being repeated.
Let’s hope the talk builds a siege mentality in the squad for the monumental clash with Leeds on survival Sunday.
