A two-pronged Tim Steidten and David Moyes West Ham scouting mission turned up mixed results over the weekend.
West Ham technical director Tim Steidten is focused on signings ahead of the summer window.
But Hammers boss David Moyes has plenty on his plate before then.
West Ham face and exciting an hectic run-in over the next six weeks. And the Hammers have it all to play for in the Premier League and Europe.
There are nine games to go in the Prem for West Ham to hold on to seventh spot and a place in Europe for a fourth successive season.
There is also the huge Europa League quarter-final against Bayer Levekusen on the horizon in the coming weeks.
Big run-in and summer ahead for West Ham
West Ham need a big influx of signings again this summer too.
So the club killed two birds with one stone at the weekend it seems.
A two-pronged Steidten and Moyes West Ham scouting mission had mixed results.
Steidten heads up West Ham’s recruitment. And he will have full control of transfers from this summer.
Journalist Graeme Bailey claims West Ham had a scout present watching giant centre-back Jonathan Tah in Germany’s 2-0 win over France.
Leverkusen defender Tah has been linked with a move to West Ham ever since Steidten arrived last summer.
West Ham are in the market for a top new centre-back this summer.

Hammers need new centre-back in next window
Angelo Ogbonna is likely in his last season. And Thilo Kehrer is set make his loan move to Monaco permanent.
The futures of both Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma are also unclear.
But Tah wasn’t the only player watched by the Hammers in that game.
I am told Moyes also had a West Ham representative take in the match to watch Leverkusen’s star player Florian Wirtz too.
The German wonderkid was signed for Leverkusen by Steidten.
And he arguably poses the biggest threat to West Ham for that last eight clash.
So it makes perfect sense the manager would want a full report on the talented 20-year-old. Wirtz is likely to have been watched by first team coach Henry Newman, who specialises in opposition analysis.
Dual purpose scouting mission as Germany beat France
The dual purpose scouting mission turned up mixed results for West Ham.
Tah put in an excellent performance which saw him given a 7/10 rating as he kept France’s array of stars quiet.
Unfortunately for West Ham, Wirtz stole the show.
He scored one of the fastest international goals of all time, smashing home an unstoppable long range effort within just seven seconds of kick-off.
Wirtz impressed and was given a match rating of 8/10 before being substituted on 71 minutes.
So Tah is very much one to watch for West Ham fans ahead of the summer. And Wirtz confirmed his status as the clear and present danger for Moyes’ side ahead of the Leverkusen clash.
