Twist as 6-time league winning manager has straight choice between West Ham and Roma

West Ham United are seemingly battling it out with Roma to appoint one of the most highly decorated managers in world football.

Julen Lopetegui is under real pressure at West Ham right now, but he escaped the chop after a board meeting on Thursday.

The results have been really poor this season but the performances have been even worse.

After Lopetegui spent more than £120 million in the summer, the Hammers have actually regressed…let that sink in.

It’s simply unacceptable, and a change is needed urgently.

Now it seems like we have a very good chance of snaring an elite coach.

Manager has straight choice between West Ham and Roma

Whether Lopetegui will be in charge after the clash with Wolves on Monday night is currently up in the air.

Even if we win, he may well be moved on, if the right manager is available to replace him.

And it seems there might be a truly elite boss ready to come in and replace him, if we manage to beat Roma to his signature.

According to a report from Calcio Mercato, Allegri now has a straight choice between taking over at West Ham and Roma.

The former Juventus manager has been linked with the Hammers before, but it has been claimed that he wants to wait until the summer before starting a new role.

The 57-year-old has six league titles to his name, and is one of the most highly regarded managers in the game.

Allegri prides himself on getting his teams extremely well organised defensively.

The Italian is extremely intense and never allows any of his players to slack – he rules with an iron fist and is well respected as a result.

I have no doubts at all that Max Allegri would improve West Ham as a team, and he’d be a major upgrade on Julen Lopetegui.

Whilst he doesn’t deploy an attacking brand of free-flowing football, he has got results everywhere he’s been.

And I’m sure he would do the same at West Ham.
