Graham Potter signed his own P45 at West Ham by bringing in losers and now he must be sacked according to Troy Deeney, who has named his ideal replacement.
Speculation continues to swirl over the future of Graham Potter as West Ham boss.
The Englishman saw Hammers fans turn on him in the 2-1 defeat to Palace at the weekend.
Supporters have shown patience with Potter, giving him a free hit after he took over from Julen Lopetegui midway through last season.
A dismal record of five wins in 19 games suggested there was plenty of work to do over the summer.
But West Ham have got considerably worse.
Hammers ‘closer’ to replacing Potter amid Nuno claim
Potter has added just one more win to his record in the first six games of the new campaign to give him the lowest win ratio of any permanent Hammers boss in history. All 130 years of it.
The head coach’s tactics, team selection and substitutions have frustrated and baffled fans.
Now he is clinging on to his job by his fingernails.
A host of managers have been linked with the Hammers job including Nuno Espirito Santo, Kieran McKenna, Slaven Bilic and Gary O’Neil.
Potter’s exit seems almost inevitable.

Especially after Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol revealed what David Sullivan told Graham Potter ahead of the Palace game.
West Ham’s owners are said to have reservations about bringing in a new manager and handing them daunting back-to-back away games against Everton and Arsenal as their first assignments.
Many Hammers supporters feel that is a prime example of the lack of ambition which has seen them once again rise up against the board.
The campaign against the owners will continue regardless but fans realise something must be done about the manager and team in the medium term if West Ham are to stay in the Premier League.
There have been reports of a power struggle between Sullivan and Karren Brady over West Ham’s next boss.
Brady has been pushing for Nuno while Sullivan reportedly favours Bilic.
Deeney says West Ham must ditch ‘nice guy’ Potter
Nuno was pictured near Sullivan’s Essex mansion after holding talks with the Hammers, sparking intense speculation he is the leading candidate.
Meanwhile Bilic, who is a popular figure among supporters, is seen as a backwards step by most fans, particularly as he hasn’t managed for over a year or at any top level for five years.
Overnight it was claimed by a top journalist that Nuno is moving closer to being named West Ham’s new manager.
As West Ham mull their next steps, there is some advice from one of the most straight-talking pundits around.
Troy Deeney says West Ham must ditch ‘nice guy’ Potter and knows the perfect man for the job – and it’s not Nuno.
It is worth noting that Deeney always speaks highly about West Ham and the club’s fans.

So he is not fishing for bites in the same way other pundits do.
Deeney says Potter is too nice and the wrong fit to turn the Hammers around.
He also criticised the Hammers’ head coach for signing players who have been used to losing every week.
Deeney then gave his verdict on Nuno replacing Potter before naming the man he thinks would do a great job at the London Stadium – Sean Dyche.
“You’re bringing in players that are used to losing to this West Ham and saying ‘right, now we’re going to change the culture of it’,” Deeney said.
“How with people that are used to losing? Mentally it just doesn’t make sense.
“At home in London derbies they’re getting battered, absolutely annihilated.
Deeney’s Nuno to West Ham verdict as he makes Dyche claim
“So how do we expect that he (Potter) is the motivator, what’s he saying that gets you going, what’s the message? (Is he really saying) ‘Oi you, get your socks up, let’s go and have it’. I just don’t think he’s that person.
“I feel sorry for him because he looks like a nice guy. But I think certain teams require a certain manager.
“West Ham need somebody that they go ‘That’s our guy, he gets it, he’s one of us’… I think West Ham are in trouble, I think they’re going to stay up because I think Wolves are worse, but they’ll just stay up because a couple of teams are bad.”
Deeney thinks West Ham could do a lot worse than to hire Nuno after his sacking by Forest.
But he finds the contrast in reported managerial targets baffling, questioning whether there is any strategy whatsoever behind it.
One man Deeney does believe makes sense is ex Everton and Burnley boss Dyche – a former Millwall player.
“They’re not even on the same planet though, are they (Bilic and Nuno)?” Deeney said on talkSPORT.
“They’re not going for the same type of manager. One’s going for nostalgia, one’s going for pragmatic.
“I think they could do a lot worse than going and getting Nuno. Also, I don’t even know if he wants to go back to work, but Sean Dyche would do pretty well at that place.”
