One of Sky Sports’ top reporters Rob Dorsett has made an incredible claim about West Ham star Jarrod Bowen after what he witnessed.

West Ham fans have been banging the drum for top goalscorer Jarrod Bowen to be given a fair chance with England.

On the whole Hammers supporters are not too fond of England boss Gareth Southgate.

Many feel Southgate has persistently ignored in-form West Ham stars for deserved England call-ups down the years.

Unlucky Bowen impresses for England

Bowen was one of those but made sure he could not be ignored by Southgate for the latest internationals.

West Ham fans were furious when Bowen did not get a start against Brazil. But the Hammer did impress when he came on in the second half of that defeat.

There was great pride when Bowen finally got his long overdue start in the draw with Belgium.

Bowen impressed again and was desperately unlucky not to get his first England goal after nodding the Three Lions 2-1 up only for it to be chalked off for offside by VAR.

Top Sky Sports reporter says Bowen ‘startled’

With hot competition for the forward places ahead of the Euros this summer, it remains to be seen whether Southgate will select West Ham’s talisman for his final squad.

But the opinion of Sky Sports’ top England reporter Rob Dorsett bodes well.

Dorsett has made an incredible claim about West Ham star Bowen, stating that he was England’s most impressive forward over the two games.

“England looked dangerous going forward, especially in the second half, but they were once again woeful at the back, where the lack of depth is a major concern – even if they get some players back from injury,” Dorsett said on Sky Sports after the game.

Hammers star must make Southgate snub impossible

“(Ivan) Toney was impressive, and deserved his first England goal.

“Bowen startled even more, and has been the stand out forward for England over two games, for me.”

High praise indeed for the Hammers ace.

But we all know Southgate has his favourites.

So Bowen must continue to perform so well for West Ham that he cannot be ignored for the Euros.

Southgate names his England squad long list for the Euros in less than 10 weeks’ time.
