A rather simple question garnered quite the response from West Ham United fans after a dramatic weekend of action.
West Ham United’s survival bid began at last on Saturday afternoon with a hugely important victory against rivals Tottenham.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side had to dig deep for it but on the balance of play, West Ham deserved their 2-1 win over Spurs.
If you could only keep ONE of these two players in January – who would it be?!
There were several standout performers but it was Callum Wilson who attracted many of the headlines.
Amid so much talk about his future at the club, the striker bagged a late winner in north London to seal a vital victory.
Indeed, Wilson is expected to leave West Ham soon, but Hammers News readers are not on board with that.
West Ham fans want to keep Callum Wilson
We asked our readers and subscribers what they would do if they were in charge.
The response was unanimous. Everyone wanted to keep Wilson, who remains a lethal goalscorer at this level.

The response to our question was telling.
“Keep keep keep keep keep,” wrote one fan.
How big of a MISTAKE would letting Callum Wilson leave prove to be?
Another added: “Keep him at all costs, he’s a real pro.”
A third said: “We have to keep Callum he’s our top scorer! Nuno needs to play him regularly as well he’s always a goal threat.”
“Absolutely keep him, he can do a job for us even if it means coming off the bench, more than starts,” was another comment.
“Do not sell him, great to bring on, start him in some games, team played well today” said another supporter.
One said: “[I’d] Definitely [be] keeping him!”
West Ham United risk fan backlash if they get rid of Callum Wilson
Unless Wilson is actively pushing to leave, those behind the scenes would likely face something of a backlash if they do let him go.
Wilson might not be anyone’s idea of a long-term solution but he’s a brilliant player to have on the bench when the team needs a goal.

The West Ham squad rate Wilson highly and knowing you can turn to a player of his experience in desperate times must be a boost.
Other players may start ahead of him but that does not mean he cannot offer something.
If West Ham let him go and they struggle for goals as a result, those in charge would have some very difficult questions to answer.
