West Ham beat bogey side Brentford in the Premier League on Monday night to ease the pressure on manager David Moyes.

It was a first win in West Ham’s nine games of 2024 so far.

That statistic has seen David Moyes’ position at West Ham called into question.

And a growing section of Hammers fans have been calling for change with punters disgruntled over the manager’s style of play and approach.

After defeat to Forest in the previous game, some supporters held up banners and signs saying ‘Moyes Out’.

Before the Brentford clash, Moyes sent a message to fans telling them to ‘concentrate on the pitch’.

The team certainly ensured that was the case as a much more aggressive, front-footed display resulted in a 4-2 win for West Ham.

The match was the live Monday Night Football game.

Sky Sports man spots what Moyes did at full-time

And the Sky Sports anchor noticed something significant Moyes did at the final whistle of the West Ham win.

Dave Jones spotted that Moyes did not go on the pitch shaking hands with players and clapping the fans as he does after every game.

Instead he went straight down the tunnel.

“Was that a big win tonight for David Moyes,” Jones said on MNF.

“We saw him not do his usual clapping on the pitch, he went straight down the tunnel after that victory.”

It was a good spot from Jones.

And it seems clear the Scot’s actions are a result of the situation he finds himself in.

That victory breathes new life into West Ham’s season, though.

The Hammers are now level on points with seventh-placed Brighton in the Premier League table.

Beat Everton on Saturday and West Ham could feasibly close to within two points of Man United in sixth given they are playing Man City.
