Julen Lopetegui has beed sacked from his role at West Ham a stunning new report has claimed.

Graham Potter is being lined up to replace Lopetegui by the board, as West Ham frantically search for a new manager.

According to talkSPORT, beleaguered Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui has been sacked by West Ham.

When that news emerged it was actually a major shock, as most of us thought he would be given the Aston Villa game at the very least.

In my opinion, Lopetegui should have been sacked after our 2-1 defeat to Tottenham back in October.

The Spaniard still doesn’t know his best starting XI six months into the job, and he has failed to implement a discernibly clear playing style.

The decision to sack him is the right one – he was the completely wrong appointment from the start.

Graham Potter would be ideal, but another name on the list really concerns me.

One of the names being linked with replacing Lopetegui will instil a serious case of fear into the West Ham fans.

Julen Lopetegui sacked as West Ham search for new manager

The Spaniard has failed miserably in his role as West Ham manager.

The standard of football has been appalling and the results equally as bad.

The Hammers have regressed since Lopetegui took over, and that’s quite the statement considering the rubbish that David Moyes served up during the second half of last season.

Now it seems like the Hammers owners are ready for a big change.

That’s all well and good but we will only move forward if they replace Lopetegui with a manager who’s forward thinking, innovative and has a real progressive view on the game.

According to Sam C reports on X, the Hammers have spoken to Steve Cooper about potentially taking over from Lopetegui.

The 45-year-old was sacked by Leicester City just six weeks ago. Why he’s even being linked with us is anyone’s guess.

If we did appoint Cooper I would lose all faith in the owners’ ability to run a successful football club.

Potter is the man we need at the London Stadium right now. The football he implements would take us to another level, whilst I believe Cooper would oversee real regression.

Graham Potter ideal for West Ham

Hopefully Cooper won’t end up at the London Stadium. Potter is the man for the job in my eyes – he’d be perfect for us.

The 49-year-old ex-Chelsea boss is a keen exponent of a possession-based system.

Because the system he deploys is so fluid, he requires constant movement from all of his players.

Potter has been known to sue up to EIGHT different systems during games, so he’s clearly very versatile.

It will take time for the players to understand his complicated system, but I’m convinced that if West Ham appoint Potter to replace Lopetegui, a really bright future will lie ahead of us.

Potter is the visionary that I’ve been crying out for at West Ham for years and years.

I think the former Chelsea manager will help us finally fulfil our huge potential as a club.
