According to a report from Sport (Print edition, January 26th, page 9), West Ham United have initiated talks to sign Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo.

The Hammers’ desperate need for another centre-forward is somewhat overshadowing our deficiencies in the left-back department.
Arthur Masuaku is out injured and won’t return to action for another six weeks or so.
Ben Johnson is a great prospect but he is still slightly wet behind the ears.

Aaron Cresswell has improved massively this season but it could be argued that he is better when playing as a left-sided centre-back.
West Ham to sign Junior Firpo?
According to a report from Sport (Print edition, January 26th, page 9) claims that Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to bolster his left-back department by bringing the 24-year-old Barcelona ace to the London Stadium from the Camp Nou.
Firpo would be a truly excellent addition for West Ham.

He has been described as an outstanding player who excels in 1v1’s, both from an attacking and a defensive perspective (Total Football Analysis). He has also been compared to legendary left-backs Roberto Carlos and Marcelo (La Liga Analysis).
The Spaniard is exactly the kind of player Moyes should be looking to sign. Firpo is valued at around £18 million according to Sport.
Let’s just hope that we get this one over the line, whether it be a loan or a permanent deal.
