Football fever has seen a popular pub in Chelmsford change its name for the Euros and West Ham will love it.
The season may be over for West Ham but supporters do at least have some of their stars to cheer on this summer.
Jarrod Bowen is West Ham’s sole representative in England’s Euro 2024 squad.
Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal will be representing the Hammers with the Czech Republic.
Alphonse Areola won’t see much game time as usual for France but is nevertheless part of Didier Deschamps selection.
The Hammers also have Lucas Paqueta in the USA for the Copa America with Brazil.
Bowen earned his place in England’s final squad for the tournament.
That’s despite some pundits and fans stating others should have gone to Germany ahead of West Ham’s top scorer.
He was in brilliant form for West Ham again last season.
Hammers fans are rightly fiercely defensive of Bowen and his selection.
And he did West Ham proud when he came on in England’s win over Serbia on Sunday night.
Bowen was excellent during his 15 minutes on the pitch.
The Hammers star had 15 touches, made 6 passes, created one clear-cut chance which should have been an assist. He also won his only aerial duel, made a key tackle, key clearance and a key interception to boot.
Bowen flying West Ham flag with England
Bowen created as many chances in his first minute on the pitch than any England player had in the opening 75 minutes.
West Ham’s talisman also ended the game as the only England player to create a big chance against Serbia.
Jude Bellingham said it all about Bowen with what he did after the game.
Many Hammers fans feel Bowen should be pushing Bukayo Saka for a start by rights.
He has the bit between his teeth and it certainly seems like he could have a big part to play in the tournament.
Everyone knows England need West Ham players if they are to win anything.
We’d all raise a glass to that of course.
Especially in one particular watering hole in Chelmsford.
Because a popular pub has changed its name for the Euros and West Ham will love it.

Popular pub changes name for Euros and West Ham will love it
A city centre pub in Chelmsford has temporarily changed its name to celebrate West Ham’s main man.
The Wheatsheaf pub will now be known as The Jarrod Bow Inn for the duration of the tournament.
And signs have already gone up marking the name change, which came as a result of a local competition.
Essex Live reports the competition was run on Facebook and immediately grabbed the attention of pub regulars and locals who flooded the post with quirky football and Euros-related name suggestions.
“Hundreds of names were thrown into the hat and landlords Paul and Tanith whittled them down to a shortlist of three: The Jarrod Bow Inn, the Three Lions Inn and the VAR Bar.
“The three options were shared on social media and it was The Jarrod Bow Inn that amassed 80 per cent of the votes, paying homage to West Ham and England international Jarrod Bowen.”
Fancy a pint at the Jarrod Bow Inn?
As we all know West Ham are massive. So of course supporters took over the vote en masse.
And it seems the landlords underestimated just how massive West Ham are.
“We never expected the competition to attract so much attention, but it’s been brilliant to see the community coming together,” Paul and Tanith said.
Never change Hammers fans.
Perhaps Bowen’s father-in-law to be and Hammers nut Danny Dyer will get down to the Jarrod Bow Inn for a pint?
All eyes now will be on whether Southgate rewards Bowen’s excellent cameo with a start against Denmark on Thursday night.
