Player finally leaves West Ham after two years at London Stadium as door swings open for teenager to make his mark

West Ham United have finally got rid of a player who simply isn’t good enough to play for us.

However, he has only left West Ham on a loan deal unfortunately.

Some really poor players have passed through the doors at the London Stadium over the past few years.

Graham Potter has a lot of work on his hands, if he is to turn things around in East London.

The Hammers head coach is said to be plotting a big squad revamp at West Ham in the summer transfer window.

That obviously includes numerous new signings and a big clear-out of the deadwood.

However, it seems like that clear-out has already begun.

Luizao finally leaves West Ham as official announcement made

Brazilian defender Luizao joined West Ham from Sao Paulo in January 2023 on a free transfer.

However, two years down the line he is still yet to make a senior appearance for the Hammers.

Luizao was said to be very keen to leave the Hammers in the January transfer window.

It was claimed that NINE clubs were keen to sign him in January, but he remained in East London in the end.

Until now that is…

The Brazilian has joined Polish side Pogon Szczecin on a loan deal until the end of the season, as confirmed by the Polish club’s X account:

The Polish transfer window is still open for business, and that has done us a massive favour.

Hopefully the Hammers can get Luizao off the books permanently in the summer.

Door swings open for Airidas Golambeckis to make his mark

The 17-year-old is one of the most exciting young talents we have at the London Stadium.

With Luizao gone, I fully expect to see the supremely talented teenager play regularly in the Brazilian’s place for under-21s now.

Back in November, Golambeckis put pen to paper on his first professional contract with West Ham.

Golambeckis has similar attributes to Declan Rice, and I believe the young central defender may well evolve into a midfielder as he grows and becomes more powerful.

The teenager possesses exceptional technical ability and has energy, stamina and ball-carrying ability in abundance.

He’s an elite young talent, and his incredible reading of the game for someone so young has already caught many admiring glances.

Now hopefully we will all get the chance to see him step up and play regular under-21 football after Luizao left West Ham on a loan deal until the end of the season.
