West Ham United could be given a huge helping hand by one Premier League club late on transfer deadline day.
Well, it has been a very busy deadline day indeed at the London Stadium, with numerous players being shipped out and one or two coming in as well.
Carlos Soler seems set to join West Ham, whilst links with Carney Chukwuemeka are refusing to go away.
Julen Lopetegui has enjoyed a magnificent summer transfer window so far, and the Hammers head coach is far from finished just yet.
However, once the Soler deal is done, the attention may well switch to moving on some of the players who offer us nothing.
And one player who we’re struggling to move on is now being linked with his former club…
Danny Ings a deadline day Southampton target
According to a report from Give Me Sport, Southampton could make an attempt to sign Danny Ings before tonight’s 11pm deadline.
However, it was claimed earlier that Danny Ings has absolutely no intention to leave West Ham on deadline day.

So it remains to be seen as to whether or not we are able to shift him within the next six hours.
Niclas Fullkrug has already arrived at the London Stadium this summer, but who knows, if Ings leave perhaps we can bring another striker in on deadline day.
Someone like Jhon Duran perhaps? One thing’s for sure, we are desperately short in the centre-forward department right now.
Southampton signing Ings would be huge
The 32-year-old has proven to be a woeful signing by the Hammers.
The fact that David Moyes agreed to pay £15 million to bring him to the London Stadium in January 2023 still baffles me.
Ings was never suited to the way that the Hammers play and his legs have clearly given up on him at the very highest level.
He has scored just four goals for us since he swapped Villa Park for the London Stadium 19 months ago.
Getting him off the wage-bill should be one of the Hammers’ main priorities today.
And if Southampton do manage to sign Danny Ings on transfer deadline day, it will be majorly positive news for West Ham.
