West Ham look set to get another crack at finishing in the Premier League top six thanks to a timely return to form and Phil Foden.
Before the turn of the year West Ham had consolidated their place in the Premier League top six after wins over Man United and Arsenal.
But nearly two months without a win to start 2024 saw the Hammers slip out of the equation.
It also piled pressure on David Moyes too as his old club Man United took West Ham’s place.
But back-to-back West Ham wins have changed everything.
Win double changes everything for Moyes
The 4-2 victory over Brentford was followed up by a 3-1 win at Everton to push the Hammers back up to seventh.
If they can stay there it will be rewarded with a place in the Europa Conference League next season thanks to Liverpool’s Carabao Cup triumph.
That would be West Ham’s fourth consecutive season of European football. And another first in the club’s history.
But the Irons could go one better.

Return to form and Man City star Foden open the door for Hammers
It’s Phil your boots Moyes as Foden opens the door to the Premier League top six again for West Ham.
There’s a special connection between West Ham and Man City.
And the special, generational talent that is Manchester City and England ace Phil Foden did the Hammers a big favour.
Foden put Man United to the sword with a superb brace in a 3-1 Manchester derby victory.
That means West Ham are now just two points behind sixth-placed Manchester United.
With whipping boys Burnley up next in the Premier League at the London Stadium for the Hammers, there’s every chance of a comfortable win.
West Ham could get the joy of six again
If Man United fail to beat Everton next Saturday and West Ham win against Burnley by two goals, they will go above the Red Devils into sixth ahead of the run-in.
And that would be rewarded with a place in the Europa League again.
On that subject, the Europa League last 16 tie against Freiburg also takes place over the next two weeks.
So the Hammers are entering an exciting and potentially pivotal stage of the season.
Now Moyes and his boys must continue to be brave and attack games.
There is nothing to lose and everything – including a new contract for the manager – to gain.
